Reviews
The food and service were pretty good, but there is some room for improvement. Prices seemed a little high, as everywhere else. $18 margaritas seemed a bit excessive, but luckily, they gave us half off when I asked if there was a happy hour (the answer was no to happy hour.)
We had fideo since that was the reason my friend brought me here, but after adding all the toppings, it came out to about $26 a bowl, and it didn't seem worth it. There was too much liquid in my bowl. Wish they put more shrimp and beans in my bowl. My friend got a decent amount of chicken in his, so I probably should've ordered that?
The ceviche mixto was pretty good. It was a pretty big serving. I wish I could have ordered a half size for half price. Seemed like a mixture of cooked and semi cooked and semi raw seafood. Crab meat on top was probably from a can. I would probably try another version next time.
The agua fresca margaritas were pretty good. We ordered the guava ones. I really appreciate real fruit in my drinks, but I couldn't really taste the guava, and it tasted a little watered down. Maybe it could have used a bit more fruit or lime juice. IDK, maybe agua fresca is supposed to taste more like water?
Our server, Yesenia, was very friendly and nice. She accommodated our requests and gave us half off margaritas. Her lovely smiles were much appreciated.
Great service, friendly staff, great tasting food, and delicious margaritas. Some of the items we tried were the watermelon cucumber, guava, and pineapple margaritas, red and green mole fries, garlic shrimp, guac, and flan... among other stuff. Everything tasted great, food was warm and ready in a reasonable amount of time.
They remodeled and it looks so beautiful 😍😍😍 been coming here for a while … Every dish is so good. Very authentic and flavorful. 😍 All my family love it.
Nice little restaurant in Whittier. Easy parking, great food, great service, reasonable prices. I usually get the duck taco, but as a group we’ve tried almost everything on the menu. Provide plenty of chips and excellent guacamole.
Upgraded floor plan. Great Food! Music sucked, stop playing american music! Otherwise 5 stars!
When arriving we were greeted just fine, they gave us out table and provided us with water, chips and sauce and were told our waiter will be with us shortly.
It took 25 minutes for a waiter to come to our table and that was because I asked for service.
The food was great, we came for the Pork Belly Tacos & my son got a asada quesadilla. They were delicious.
To be honest we probably won’t be coming back here due to the lack of service we received.
I had 2 tacos de asada, rice, guacamole…
Very tasty.
Different type of Mexican food. A unique cuisine, with more variety - something more like Central American to me.
The service was excellent. Great young man.
Also, the prices were reasonable considering “fancier” vibe and location.
I would definitely come back. The tastiness and service definitely sold me.
The food was Good, I thought a few dishes I've had were pretty good. As for the others, not so much. The meal selections I wasn't satisfied with were due to (the best way I could describe), sweetened. The meat portions of the meals were sweet. I am not a fan of sweetened meat portions when usually they are not. The was a major turn off for me. What saved the night was the waiter. His attitude was professional, positive, and on point, problem solver.
Since then we've attended the restaurant several times, and we've coincidently have had the same waiter, so every visit's experience was expected to live up to the initial visit. Without fail, we were not disappointed, very pleased.
Just because a few dishes were not to my liking doesn't mean I would review negatively. No one is perfect, no service is perfect all because life happens. It is not what we are or where we come from . . . It's all about what we develop into. Our waiter is an example of that, his display of dedication was the Win that has kept us returning.
